Departments of ITU

The work performed at the Institute for Transuranium Elements (ITU) covers  a broad field of nuclear research activities. To fulfil its many different tasks in the different actions of the 7^th Framework Programme, the Institute has established seven scientific units and one support department:

• Hot Cells
• Materials Research
• Nuclear Chemistry
• Nuclear Fuels
• Nuclear Safeguards & Security
• Site Management and Nuclear Safety

and the supporting unit:

• Resource Management

To ensure the best synergy and the most efficient research both scientific units and supporting units work in close collaboration.
