Organisation Chart

The JRC's Institute for Transuranium Elements (ITU) consists of seven scientific and two supporting units. Since 2006, Prof. Thomas Fanghänel has been the director of ITU. Head of Unit of Materials Research is Rudy Konings, of Nuclear Chemistry Jean-Paul Glatz, of Nuclear Safeguards and Forensics Klaus Lützenkirchen, of Nuclear Fuels Joseph Somers, of Hot Cells Vincenzo Rondinella, of Actinide Research is Roberto Caciuffo and Nuclear Safety is Willem Janssens.

Their work is supported by the Site Management & Nuclear Safety Unit, headed by Klaus Lützenkirchen (acting) and the Management Support Unit headed by Jacqueline Ribeiro.
