Nuclear Safety

The highly specialised research at ITU demands a sophisticated technology and safety support. This is being provided by the Nuclear Safety and Infrastructure unit. It has two core tasks:

Nuclear safety:

• All activities and actions including a potential risk to the public, the environment, the staff or to the installations of the Institute, are to be performed in a safe and reliable manner and have to meet the legal requirements.

Infrastructure:

• Ensuring the safe and reliable operation of all safety related facilities and scientific installations as well as supporting the scientific units with extensive technical services.
