Advisory Group meeting

October 25-26, 2005

Following the Euratom Scientific and Technical Committee meeting, the annual Advisory Group meeting took place in 25-26 Oct., at the ITU, welcoming J. Bouchard, adviser to the CEA Administrateur Général, as a new member in replacement of J.-L. Nigon. The new chairman of the committee is W. Sandtner (Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Arbeit).

The focus this year was on physics, with among others detailed presentations on the thermophysical properties of the nuclear fuel, and on the physics of the actinides. G. Lander presented also the planned extension of the buildings, which should allow the Institute to be ready for the coming challenges, concerning in particular the safety of the Gen IV nuclear fuels. The final report of the Advisory Group should be ready before the end of December.
